A New Era

Today is the beginning of a new era for me, I move into a new studio space in Fremantle, five minutes drive from my small home studio.  This will allow me to split my handbuilt work from throwing, glazing and firing into two spaces.  I intend to become more productive this way, in fact, I had better do so in order to to pay for my parking and rent alone.  It is hard to access the creative muse when before you can make work, you have to move 'stuff' all the time.  For Mother's Day the men in my life (husband and three teen sons) will move 'stuff' to the new place, to save me the trouble as I am recovering from a nasty fall in a supermarket.  How shrewd I was to have sons! That will be far more satisfactory than a pair of fluffy slippers and a bunch of tired carnations, in fact I'd rather just look at a very old botanical illustration such as this one, online, than receive tired old carnations.  I will keep you posted on how it pans out.
